Mercom is looking for self-starting, self-motivated, initiative-taking, and make-it-happen kind of people to join our sales team as Sales Account Executives in our Pawleys Island, SC office. We need people who know when to ask questions and have the ability to drive things forward quickly and efficiently. A lot of what we do is based on building great relationships; relationships with our customers, partners, vendors, manufacturers, and most importantly, with the Mercom team. You will be part of a dedicated sales and technical support team charged with driving and building Mercom's federal, state and local government and commercial sales and your efforts will make a real impact on Mercom's success. You'll interact with all levels of management and all business elements of the company who will know you by name. This position's function is to manage and develop a client base of government (federal, state and local) and commercial clients and evaluate needs of prospective and current clients by developing and building constructive and cooperative relationships. In addition, this position will coordinate and monitor sales orders from initiation to completion and delivery, interacting with our accounting, logistics and fulfillment teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Applicants should have excellent computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. One or more years of sales experience is required. Experience with selling to government customers is preferred.
